Kannon

Kannon has been playing spring baseball.  His team has done really well.  Kannon plays 1st base most of the time.

Kannon is the 2nd from right on top row - This was after winning a tournament in Mississippi

The elementary school had an Up-Cycle Fair this year instead of a Science Fair.  The students had to make something useful from things that would normally be thrown away.  Kannon made Fire Starters to put in our 72 hour bags.  We used dryer lint, old candles melted down and egg cartons.  They turned out great.  The classes also participated and my 2nd grade class came up with different things to make out of the milk cartons from the lunchroom.

Kannon's scout troop made boats and then had races using rain gutters.

A friend from Church coaches a soccer team and he was short a player for the last few games of the year and asked if Kannon could play.  He had never played before but he gave it a try and did  a  good job.  He especially liked playing goalie.  Kannon decided he would like to play soccer in the Fall.

Field Day

Here is Kannon and his cousin Shay about to race on the Inflatables

Kannon's class throughout the year has had the theme "Movies", so for an end-of-the-year activity they had an Academy Awards Night.  Kannon and another classmate were the hosts for the evening.  They all walked down the red carpet and signed autographs and then awards were given out to each student.  Kannon received the Citizenship Award and the Gifted & Talented Award.  It was a fun night.

This little girl has been in Kannon's class each year.  They were born on the same day at the same hospital, close to the same time - Kannon said it is kind of like they are twins :)

What a movie star!!

2nd Grade had a Field Trip to an Old Historic State Park

Playing some pioneer games

Participating in a skit about the War of 1812 in Arkansas

Kannon had an exciting 2nd grade year.  I loved being right across the hall and getting to see Kannon throughout the day.  He always had a smile on his face and friends around him.  He had the chance to participate in an Enrichment Reading Class throughout the year, he was a Tango dancer in the 2nd grade musical, he earned the reward of being Jr. Principal for the day, he played intramural basketball, and continues to participate in cub scouts.
