The Calvin Family

We were so happy to have our good friends from Utah come visit this week. The Calvins moved away about 2 years ago after living in Jonesboro for 5 years. Katie and I taught school together at Fox Meadow and our families became very close. Kannon and Emma were best friends.

What a cute family!

It sure is great to have such wonderful friends. It seemed like they had never moved away. What a fun visit we had. We will miss you Calvin Family!

The County Fair

It wouldn't be September without a trip to the county fair. We went as a family on Wednesday night and then I took the Preschool on Thursday morning to the Petting Zoo. The kids love the rides and seeing so many people that they know.

Corey's favorite ride has always been the Ferris Wheel

Kannon was so excited that his good friend Emma Calvin was able to go to the fair with him.

The 2008-2009 Preschool class (with a few visitors) . Aren't they a cute bunch!

Another fun year at the Fair.

St. Louis Weekend

This past weekend I went to St. Louis with a group of women from church. We went to the St. Louis temple and then attended "Time out for Women" which was Friday night and all day Saturday. I can't believe that I went out of town for the weekend and it didn't involve baseball. :) It was fun hanging out with so many great women. I think we all came away from the conference refreshed and determined to keep working on being the best we can be.

Happy Birthday Kannon

Happy, Happy Birthday Kannon Dear! We can't believe that Kannon is now five. Wow, that sounds so old and grown up. He is a whole hand full - in more ways then one :) He is our silly boy, the other boys really don't act silly and try to get people to laugh at them but that is what Kannon is all about. He is ALWAYS smiling even when he is up to mischief. I think that is why it is so hard to get upset with him because of that darn cute smile all the time. We had a fun birthday at Pump It Up with a few friends and then it was off to dinner at - - you guessed it Wendy's :) We also had cake and presents at home with the family.

Having a ball on the bouncy slide!

A new movie - that means movie and popcorn night coming up.

Labor Day

We usually always spend Labor Day weekend up in Mountain Home with Nana and Papa but this year with all of our travels throughout the summer we decided to just stay home. We caught up on yard work, swam, cooked out, swam and watched a couple of movies. It was nice just hanging out at home.

Watch out Michael Phelps

Kannon doing the backstroke.

Kannon has become quite the little swimmer. He loves to have "swimming lessons" in the pool. I hope everyone had a fun, relaxing Labor Day Weekend.

1st Day of School

School has begun for all of us here at the Jones house. We got back late Sunday night, August 17th, from Oklahoma just in time for Corey and Tanner to get ready for their new school year. Corey is in 6th grade and Tanner is in 2nd grade. They both have very nice teachers and have several friends in their new classrooms.

Dustin didn't start school until the following week since he was a little busy in North Carolina. On September 2nd, Kannon and I started Preschool. Kannon is the professional Preschooler :) I am not sure what he is going to do next year when he goes to Kindergarten and he has to wear shoes.

Even though we are going to miss the care free days of summer we are all excited for a new school year to begin.

The trip Home

Monday we packed up and headed home. We decided to go home through the Smokey Mountain National Park and visit Gatlinburg (a mountain Branson). It was beautiful! The boys loved going through the tunnels that were scattered throughout the mountain pass.
You can definitely see why they are called the "Smokey Mountains"

Barry's mom and dad followed us home on our adventure through the mountains.

Gatlinburg was a very pretty town, nestled right in the mountains. I think it is the Miniature Golf Capital of the World. We had lunch and then just walked around the town. We wished that we had more time to spend there but we had to get back on the road and get home.

This is pretty much what the boys did the rest of the time home. We were all worn out but had had a great weekend.
