Kannon's Big Bed

Kannon is very excited about his new "big bed". Yes, the poor child has been sleeping in his crib all this time. We thought with the big bed that he might sleep in it all night long unlike the crib but he still finds his way to our bed about 4:00 a.m. each morning. Dustin is excited too, because he got a new "big bed" also. He got a queen size bed which takes up most of his room but it will be good for company. So I guess we now have a "guest" room sortof, so come visit us.

Happy Valentine's Day

We started off Valentine's week with a Nursery school party on Monday. Kannon had fun decorating his Valentine sack and giving cards to his friends.

On Tuesday, Kannon had another party with the Preschool. We made Valentine necklaces. Kannon wore his for about one minute and then he was done with that. All the kids loved handing out their cards and receiving them from each other.

Wednesday, Tanner and Corey both had their parties at school. Tanner's party was from 9:30 to 10:30 that morning. He got to go home after the party which he thought was great!

Corey had pizza and watched a movie for his party. He was thrilled because they had Soda. We ended up with lots and lots of candy! The boys also got a nice treat in the mail from Nana - pajama bottoms!

Barry and I decided to forego on the candy, flowers and dinner out and instead get a much needed DVD/VCR player. Yeah, now we can tape our favorite shows when we are not home. I hope that everyone had a nice Valentine's Day!

District Champs

Dustin finished his basketball season last weekend with a District Championship. What an exciting season he had. The team's record was 22-1. It was nice to have Nana and Papa at the championship game. Dustin scored 18 points in the final game. He did have a 35 point game earlier in the season. We loved watching him play!

Snowbiz

Corey was in a Winter Musical last month called "Snowbiz". The whole fourth grade participated in the program. The set they had was pretty amazing. Corey's class sang a song called, "What am I Doing Here?" and were dressed up as Ice Fishermen. He wore a hat, scarf, gloves and carried in a fishing stick. They had a snow machine that kept shooting out snow all over. Kannon and Tanner thought that was pretty cool.

This is Corey's class performing. He is the second on the right with his head down. The program was really cute with lots dancing, props, snow and solo parts.

Outside, after the show

Little Dribblers

Tanner was a Valley View "Little Dribbler" this winter. It was a group of kindergarteners that got to perform during halftime at two of the High School Basketball games. They learned a routine of dribbling skills to do to music. It was fun for him to be a part of the program.

They put the ball around their waist, around each leg, dribbled with their right and then left hand and dribbled on one knee. Not quite the Harlem Globetrotters but fun. Next year, he said he wants to play "real" basketball.

Snow!

Yeah, we finally got SNOW! I know you Utah people are saying SO WHAT but hey here in Arkansas it doesn't happen very often. Kannon and I were in Walmart about 12:30 on Wednesday (last week) and I heard someone say it was snowing. Well, by the time we finished getting groceries it was really snowing and the roads were already covered and icy. Kannon couldn't wait to get home so he could play in the snow.

The schools all let early but it was after 6:00 when Barry and the boys got home because they had to wait for all of the students to be picked up. Several of the buses couldn't make their route so they brought the kids back to the school to call parents. Things pretty much shut down around here when it snows. We were just all excited because we knew we got to sleep in on Thursday! It ended up snowing about 3 or 4 inches. School was not only out Thursday but Friday too! Tanner went to a friend's house on Thursday to play and we noticed their driveway and sidewalk were already shoveled (they are from Utah) so we borrowed their snow shovel. Tanner had fun making piles of snow to jump in.

Indy liked the snow too.

100th Day of School

Tanner had his 100th day of school last week. He made a paper chain with 100 links for his project to share and he also made a shirt with 100 paint dots to wear on that day. At school, they made 100 Day glasses to wear, talked about what they would do with $100.00 dollars, read stories, and practiced counting to 100 by 1's, 5's and 10's. He said that it was a fun day!

Making his shirt (Thanks Katie for the Dot Paint)

Ready for a fun 100th Day!
