Happy Birthday Dustin

Dustin turned 16 on Tuesday! After a double header, he went and got a sandwich at his favorite place to eat - Firehouse Subs. Then we came home for cake and presents.

We had an ice cream cake which is Dustin's favorite. That was my favorite growing up also.

Dustin got money, phone minutes, a golf date with Barry, Fruit Snacks (a whole box for himself, the brothers were all jealous) and car insurance. I can't believe that he can drive on his own now. We also are going to see the Red Birds play on July 4th.

Happy Birthday Dustin!!

A weekend at the Lake

Dustin had the weekend off from baseball so we decided to head up to Mountain Home. We missed having Nana and Papa there but they were visiting in Maryland. Kannon couldn't figure out why they weren't there. I bet he asked 20 times, "Where is Nana and Papa?" Simba was sure glad to see us. She loved all the attention from everyone.

I don't think that Barry enjoyed this as much as Simba did.

Corey enjoyed practicing the piano.

On Saturday, we packed our lunch and headed out on the lake.

I think Dustin and Kannon were deciding who was going to be the first one in the lake.

I think the favorite part of a day on the lake is eating lunch on the boat.

Summer wouldn't be complete if we didn't get caught out on the lake in a rainstorm at least once. As we were all swimming and having fun, Barry looks off into the distance and says I think we better head back to the dock, it looks like rain. Well, five minutes later it was definitely rain. It was about a 15 minute ride back to the dock directly into the rain and wind. That is Corey and Tanner under the blue towels.

When we got to the boat dock Corey and Tanner came out from under the towels. Corey said, "We survived!" They both said that they had said a prayer. Storms on the lake are a little scary.

We sure had a fun relaxing (well, besides the storm) time at the lake. Thank you Nana and Papa for letting us stay at your house. We look forward to coming up again when you guys are home.

Swimming Lessons

Tanner and Kannon have been taking swimming lessons at the YMCA this week and last week. On Friday, the parents got to go in and watch. Tanner is really doing great. I think since he swims everyday in our pool at home he has become very comfortable in the water.

Tanner has been practicing his diving.

Now Kannon is another story. He manages to go through the whole swimming lesson and never get the top of his head wet. But he comes out of class everyday and tells me, "I did awesome today mom."

Kannon is practicing his "big arms". Notice the hair is still dry.

When I saw them playing this game I thought for sure that Kannon would go under water. Everyone had a ring that they let sink to the bottom and then they had to go under to pick it up.

I was wrong. If you look closely at the picture you can see Kannon picking the ring up with his toes and then reaching down to get it. Hair is still dry. :) That stinker!

Swimming is sure a fun part of summer!

Happy 10th Birthday Corey

Last Wednesday was Corey's birthday. He was very excited to be turning 10! We were so anxious for Corey to open his presents because we had a PlayStation2 for him. Barry had won it as a door prize at a education conference a few months ago. Corey has been asking for one for years but we always tell him it is too expensive. We knew he was going to be so excited!!!

Along with the PS2, Corey got two new games to go with it. He also got a McDonald's Card from Aunt Jamie which if you know Corey at all, you know that he loved that.

You can hear Tanner in the background of the video sounding pretty excited also.

Corey was quite the Happy Boy!

Corey is sure growing up quickly. I can't believe he is already 10 years old. He just keeps getting sweeter and sweeter (and taller!).

Dustin had a double header baseball game in Wynne that night so in between games we took Corey out to eat at, you guessed it, McDonalds. Corey got two Cheeseburgers and a chocolate shake since it was his birthday.

We are having a family party later in the month for both Corey and Dustin.

Happy Birthday Corey! We sure love you.

Corey's Baseball Season

Corey finished up his first year of Kid Pitch Baseball last week. He did a great job. We had fun cheering on his team who ended up in second place in their league. Corey played left and right field.

Corey was lucky number 13!

Barry got to help coach the team and run some of the practices.

Corey was glad to have Nana at one of his games.

Dustin and his friend Sarah hanging out at Corey's game.

Good season boys!!

Tanner's Baseball Season

Tanner finished up his first season of Machine Pitch Baseball. He had a great coach and a team full of very nice boys. He improved so much throughout the season. He played third base and pitcher. He got a hit in every game. We sure enjoyed watching him play. His team came in third in the league.

Nana was able to come see a couple of Tanner's games.

For the end of the season party, the team had a cookout at the park. The boys all got a trophy with a baseball signed by George Kell (who is the grandfather of one of the boys). I don't think the kids were too impressed with a ball signed by a Hall of Famer but the parents were.

Tanner and his coach

Having fun at the playground!

Kannon is very anxious for his turn to play ball. All season he kept asking "when is my game?"

Kannon's First Talk

Kannon gave his first talk in Primary last month. He was so excited to be able to talk on the microphone. He stills loves to give his talk to anyone that will listen. The talk was about things that make him happy.
