The Jensen Family

We were very excited to have Kristen, Matt, Sophie and Quincy come visit us this last week. Kannon loved playing with Sophie, Tanner loved holding Quincy and Corey loved talking and talking and talking to Matt. While they were here they got to go watch Dustin play tennis in the State Tournament and Sophie got to come to Nursery school two mornings.

What a cute fun family!

Sophie played so nicely with all of the boys. She liked playing downstairs with all of the "school things". Her and Kannon even played school, taking turns being the teacher.

Quincy is such a cute baby. He was very content to be held by anyone and liked just playing on the floor around everone.

Sophie was very nice to share all of her Princesses for a "Princess Center" at Nursery School. All the other little girls were thrilled.

We are so glad that we got to spend time with the Jensens. We hope to visit them next summer.

Parker Pioneer Homestead

Last Saturday, we went and visited Parker Pioneer Homestead. It is a Historical Pioneer Village with log cabins, a school house, a church, a grist mill, country store, barn, period crafts, and other "pioneer things". Tanner loves history so this was really fun for him. We enjoyed walking through all of the buildings, listening to the music and of course tasting the food.

And I thought it was long and crowded in our van when we drove out west. I sure am glad I wasn't riding in one of these!

They actually shot this cannon off while we were there.

A fun family day at the Pioneer Village.

Tennis Update

Dustin finished his tennis season by placing fourth in the state in doubles and by winning the Team Championship. Dustin and his partner had placed second in the District Tournament which qualified them to go to the State Tournament. They won their first two matches and then lost in the semi-finals. The semi-final game lasted nearly two hours. They split the first two sets and then forced two different tie-breakers. Finally they lost the match, 6-4, 6-7 , 7-6. If you don't know much about tennis - that means it was a long, close, very exciting match. Valley View won the Singles title and with Dustin reaching the semi-finals that gave them enough points to win the Team Title. Wow, another State Title for Dustin. We were very proud of him. I never paid much attention to tennis before but now I love to watch it. I am even beginning to figure out the scoring. I am putting "learning how to play tennis" on my list of things to do.

Happy Birthday Nana!

Nana came down on Sunday to visit and also to pick up Kristen and her family. They were going to Mountain Home for the week. We celebrated Nana's birthday while she was here with a yummy chocolate cake and presents.

It was nice to be together for Nana's special day!

Happy Birthday Nana!

A Busy Saturday

Last Saturday was a very busy day! I started off the day at our Annual Christmas Craft Day at church. I really didn't get to do any crafts since I was in charge of the day but things went well and it was a nice morning. I then ran home and got Tanner and Kannon to go to the Valley View Fall Festival. Corey went with Barry to pick up Kristen, Matt, Sophie and Quincey from the airport in Memphis. It was a beautiful day for the festival. The kids had fun and we ran into a alot of friends to visit with.

The boys quickly found games and jumping things to spend their tickets on.

Valley View always goes all out when they have an activity. All of the booths had mums, pumpkins, hay bales and other Fall things for decorations.

When our tickets were gone we ran back to the church to clean up the Craft Day and then home for a quick lunch. At 2:00, the Primary was having a Fall Activity so we headed back to the church for that. The kids did several Fall crafts and had a light dinner.

When the Primary activity was over we hurried home to see Kristen and her family. The boys couldn't wait to play with Sophie and Quincey. Kristen is visiting Arkansas to attend her 10 year High School reunion. We sure enjoyed having them visit us.

That night, Barry, Corey, Dustin and Matt went to the Arkansas State University Football game. Kristen and I stayed home with the little ones and enjoyed visiting with each other. What a fun but BUSY day!

Family Pictures

Barry's Mother's birthday was this last week and all she wanted was a family picture. So we all dressed up and headed to her house Sunday afternoon for "the family picture". You know how everyone loves those! For as many people that we had I think the pictures turned out pretty nice.

We also did a few individual family pictures while everyone was all dressed up.

Shay and Kannon have become very good friends now that Shay comes to Preschool two days a week at our house.

The Tooth Fairy Visits

All Tanner wants "for Christmas is his two front teeth". The tooth fairy has been busy at our house lately. Tanner looks very cute with his teeth missing. I am just so glad that they are finally out. They have been very, very loose for a while but Tanner wouldn't pull them out. One got knocked out at school and then the other one Grandmama pulled out at her birthday party. Kannon keeps asking when his teeth are going to fall out.

Our New Pet

Papa, Nana and Uncle Bill stopped in for a quick visit on their way to Florida last month. Kannon decided that he was going to go with them to the beach. We found him in the car all strapped in and waiting. I told him he couldn't go because he wasn't packed. He ran inside and came back with his bathing suit and then said that he was ready. He was very sad when he didn't get to go so Nana told him that she would bring him back a surprise. Well, a week later on their way back from Florida they stopped in again to visit and this time they had a surprise for Kannon. A Hermit Crab with real Florida sand! The boys were all excited and named him "Hermie". Since then they have taken turns having him sleep in their room. Tanner took him to school on Friday for show-n-tell. Thank you Nana and Papa for a fun new pet.
