Book Character Parade
The second grade had a Character Parade today. All of the students had to read a book during November and then choose a character from the book to dress up like. Tanner read the "The Little League Team from the Black Lagoon". He has been doing such a great job with his reading. Just in the last few months, he has begun reading chapter books and he reads all the time now. It is wonderful! The students all paraded up and down the aisles of the Fine Arts Center and then each went on stage to tell their book and character's name. Tanner did a great job!

Ward Art Show
Our Ward had an Art Show this past Wednesday. Everyone brought art pieces to display. Tanner and Kannon were excited to show off some of their art. It was fun to see all of the different things that people brought. There was quite a variety. They had music playing and refreshments were served which made for a really fun evening.
Astronomy Night
Thursday night was Corey's 6th Grade Astronomy Night. They have been studying stars and space for the last month or so. He knows over 30 constellations! They had telescopes set up at a farm out in the middle of nowhere for all of the kids to look through. There was a bonfire and a hot dog dinner also. Corey had been counting the days down for it to arrive. Barry and I went along to help out and had a COLD, very COLD evening under the stars. It was sort of a cloudy night so they didn't see as many stars as they had planned but Corey loved it.

Primary Program
We had our Annual Primary Program at church a few weeks ago. Corey, Tanner and Kannon each had a part that they worked very hard to memorize. They did a great job! Corey was excited about the song "Called to Serve" because the missionaries came up and sang it with all of the boys. Kannon has been asking me when I was going to tape him saying his part - so here it is.
This is always my favorite Sunday. We had been practicing the songs each week in Family Home Evening and I actually saw all three of them singing. Kannon looked very cute sitting in a row of all girls - he didn't seem to mind at all. :) Great program Primary Kids!
Halloween Week
We had a fun, fall week leading up to Halloween. The weather was so beautiful last Sunday that the boys and I decided to go on a hike. The leaves are starting to change colors so it was a pretty walk.
We stopped at a few playgrounds along the trail.
Kannon got tired towards the end of the hike so Tanner tried to help him out. :) We stopped for a snack and drink and then everyone was ready to go again.
Sunday night, we had our Annual Halloween Family Home Evening - Carving pumpkins, making ghost cookies and dipping pretzels.
Corey and Kannon were in charge of helping with the ghost cookies.
Tanner was the pretzel dipper and Barry was in charge of the pumpkin. I just helped eat all of the goodies!
This was "H" week in Preschool. On Tuesday, we counted hats and learned about our Heart. We even got to disect a real sheep heart. The kids thought that was so cool. I had attended a Heathly Science class this summer at ASU and I got five sheep hearts and five sheep brains to take back to my classroom.
Thursday was H is for Halloween day and the kids had fun trick or treating to each other. They had each brought a goodie to hand out.
On Halloween, we went to Grandmama's house for a chili dinner and then came back home to go trick or treating. Corey said he was too old to trick or treat so just Kannon, Tanner and I went. They ran from house to house, they were so excited.
