We had a fun week of Spring Break. We would have all loved going to the beach like we used to do but Dustin was tied up with ballgames throughout the week. We did lots of fun things though and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. First on our list was, of course, a trip to the Zoo. It was perfect weather for walking around the zoo. We made sure to get all of our favorite things in: spending time in the Herpatarium (snake house), visiting the polar bears during feeding time, eating a tropical snow, and taking pictures with all of the statues :) (every statue Kannon sees he stands by it and says take my picture).
The boys enjoyed watching the reticulated Python - one of Corey's favorites.
After we left the zoo, we went to the Civil Rights Museum. It is free on Mondays after 3:00 p.m. So we were there at 3:00 p.m. along with a lot of other people who like "free" things. Tanner has been reading a lot of biographies about Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks and Ruby Bridges so he was very interested in the museum. The museum is at the actual motel where Martin Luther King was shot and killed. Part of the tour takes you through the hotel room where he stayed. Also, during one part you go on this bus and listen to a reenactment of the Rosa Parks story. She was the one who would not give up her seat on the bus which led to the big bus strike. Kindof cool stuff. After the museum, we headed back to Jonesboro for Dustin's baseball game.
Tuesday, was bowling day. The boys had brought some free passes home from school so off we went. Tanner was the winner with a high score of 113. He even beat me! We were going to stay and play video games but they made the announcement that the Tornado Sirens were going off in town so we decided to head home instead.
Since we didn't get to play video games at the bowling alley we went to Chuck-e-Cheese the next day and played games.
On our list of things to do during Spring Break was to go camping but with all of the rain and storms we decided not to. I had already gotten all of the supplies for s'mores so Thursday we made a fire in the backyard and pretended that we were camping. We all got to eat s'mores and sleep in our own beds. That is my kind of camping :)
Nothing is better than a campfire s'more. YUM!
On Friday, Nana and Papa arrived for the weekend. They were coming to watch Dustin play baseball and also to spend Easter with us. The boys were excited for them to arrive. We had a busy weekend with ballgames, working in the concession stand two nights and then getting ready for Easter. Spring Break went by too quickly but everyone had fun. Now we will be looking forward to summer break!!

That's too bad you had to miss out on your annual beach trip. Sounds like you guys had an activity packed Spring break. How fun!
