Baseball 2006

Summertime means baseball for the Jones Family. Tanner had fun playing his second season of T-ball. He loved playing 1st base. As soon as the ball was hit, Tanner was on the base ready to catch the ball. Now remember, this was T-ball and the ball doesn't get thrown to 1st base that often, but Tanner was ready. Next year he will be moving up to Machine Pitch.












Corey played his second year of Machine Pitch. He is a great batter. I think Corey's favorite part of the season was that his coach always had a cooler of gatorade for the players. After each game, the team had a prayer to bless the refreshments. Corey volunteered the first night and we were so proud of him for saying such a nice prayer.









Dustin's team won the 14 year old State Tournament. He had a great tournament. The hightlight being he hit his first homerun! In the Regional Tournament, his team lost their first game, won the next two and then lost again. The team did a good job and I think they all had fun.

The boys on the team all stayed with Host Families. Dustin stayed with three other team mates with a really nice family. They had a big house and a nice in ground pool. Matt, I could see you guys hosting some ball players sometime. The family came to all of the games and cheered for the boys like they were their own. They even took them to their church on Sunday morning. (First Baptist Church). The day we got back from the tournament Dustin went to golf and then tennis practice so he has already moved on to the next sport.

Even though, Kannon didn't play on any organized baseball team he watched and played plenty of ball. Anytime there was an empty field nearby he was on the mound "pitching" or running the bases. He will get to play T-ball next year which he is excited about.

We are glad that mom and dad had a chance to see some of the ballgames this summer. That means a lot to the boys. I thought it was pretty neat that Dustin had both sets of grandparents at the Regional Tournament to cheer him on. We appreciate all the support and interest that everyone gives our boys.
