Baseball Update

The boys have all been having a great time playing baseball this spring. And Barry and I have been having a great time watching them.

Kannon, Barry, Corey, and Dustin watching Tanner play.

Kannon is on the Dodgers t-ball team and loves all of the attention he gets when we cheer him on. T-Ball is very non-competitive but Kannon takes it pretty serious. He can field the ball pretty well and then likes to run to the base to get the runner out. He is very quick to look our way and give us a thumbs-up when he makes a good play.

Oops, missed that one!

Tanner plays on the Giants machine pitch team. This is his second year of machine pitch and he has really improved. He plays first base and makes a lot of good catches. This league keeps score so it can get pretty exciting at times.

Corey plays for the Giants Kid Pitch team. Corey can really hit that ball. His team had a slow start but has started winning the last few weeks. Tanner and Corey play catch in the yard every day after school and they are both doing so well.

Dustin's high school team continues to win! They won the Regional tournament last week and Monday they won in the State Semifinals so they are headed for the finals on Saturday. They get to play at the University of Arkansas stadium which will be great. Dustin hit a grand slam in the first round game of the State tournament - wow that was exciting. He continues to play short stop and does a great job.

I took this picture right after they won the State Semi-finals game 5-4 in the 11th innning. What a game!

Dustin was being congratulated for scoring a run.

This picture was in the Jonesboro Sun the next morning along with the headline, "Blazing Toward a Title". The first three rounds of the state tournament were played at Valley View. Barry was the Tournament Director so he was busy on the golf cart running here and there making sure everyone had what they needed. The boys thought that was pretty fun. We are all looking forward to our weekend in Fayetteville. Good luck Blazers.

Love the picture of backs of the Jones boys! Life at the ball park - the boys seem to love it!
